Phew! We’ve just finished two very successful KICKOFF 2011 events in Montreal and Toronto as well as our Path to Profit and Awards Recognition events. I want to thank everyone for coming out making our events a tremendous success.
Congratulations to all our prize winners. Attendees were given a chance to win 5000 AIR MILES, a resort vacation certificate, wireless Bluetooth devices, sculptures, luxury blankets and much more. There were also a lot of great booth takeaways and of course business cards being exchanged at our busiest networking event of the year.
We had the biggest supplier expo this year in Toronto. We received a lot of positive feedback on our two digital signs. Thank you to Best Buy Canada for providing the screens and Screenscape for providing the online platform. As my last blog post mentioned, CENTURY 21 Canada has launched a new partnership with Best Buy Canada, offering Geek Squad services to consumers who buy their homes through a CENTURY 21 agent.
Of course, our long standing partner, AIR MILES® were there as well. CENTURY 21 is an exclusive Sponsor in the real estate category of the AIR MILES® Reward Program. Collectors Earn 2 AIR MILES reward miles for every $1000 of property value bought or sold through a participating CENTURY 21 office.
Jared James, our Keynote speaker at our events across Canada, was a huge hit. He talked about 7 ways to grow your business now – covering ideas that can make an instant impact on a real estate agent’s business. You know he’s not just talking because he has the credentials to back it up. He has won many accolades such as “Realtor of the Year” and REALTOR Magazine’s WEB CHOICE award winner as favourite Realtor in the USA among "30 under 30".
The team at WhereToLive.com were on stage again this year. Alex Blyakman, Ed Kohler and Benjamin Higginbotham talked about the latest trends to watch out for, including social media, monitoring web statistics and the Century21.ca community web sites. Our community web sites are looking good, but we need to keep making these pages better. These are the ultimate showcase of the neighbourhoods we live in and what it would be like to be a part of that community.
At KICKOFF in Montreal we were joined by keynote speaker Carol Allain. Carol, a well-known motivational speaker and author, has helped over 500 companies maximize employee skills, explore new attitudes and better adapt to the various sources of change. He reminded us that with the constant use of technology, it’s more important than ever to keep up our face-to-face communication skills.
KICKOFF Toronto brought us Comedian Simon Cotter as our Master of Ceremony. His jokes had audiences laughing and wanting more. Described by the Toronto Star as “a combination of Bill Crosby and Bob Newheart, with John Belushi’s energy”, Cotter uses wit, candour and charm to entertain his audience.
Jill Hewlett, a Professional Speaker, TV Producer/Host as well as a Personal & Group Leader also hit the stage in Toronto. Jill is innovative in her approach to personal development. She shared practical tools to be used everywhere.
