Personal Background
Born in Ontario, and graduated from Centralia College of Agricultural Technology as an Animal Health Technology in 1970.
I was born the eldest in a family of 5 children. Education was always important in our family. I loved school, sports and was a member of the Girl Guides and later an assistant Guide Leader before we moved out west.
My husband, son and I moved to Calgary and arrived on February 14, 1981. We loved the city, the mountains, the wide open space and the mountains.
In 1983 we moved to Airdrie and have lived here all but for about a year in the late 80's Airdrie is home.

Professional Interests
In 1989 I joined our Century 21 office in Airdrie as the Client Co Ordinator. It was an eye opener for me coming from a back ground in animal health. Quite a difference. But I fell in love with this industry. as the client co ordinator I looked around at the real estate industry and decided to become a Realtor.
In 1990 I became a licensed real estate agent. By 1993 I was volunteering at the real estate board for their Charitable Foundation, followed by the professional standards committee. In 1995 I was elected as a governor for the Charitble Foundation and was their president in 1999. http://www.calgaryrealtorscare.org/ This is an amazing group of Realtors from the Calgary area who work to make a difference in the Calgary area and surrounding communities.
The professional standards committe was also an important committe for me as it kept me on top of changes in the industry.
In 2005 I was elected as a director for the Calgary Real Estate Board. I was their president in 2009. This was a great opportunity to learn more about our industry, to have input into the changes in our industry and to give back to our industry.

Personal Interests
In my spare time, I love to work in my gardens. I have lots of perennials so that they are easy to maintain. On week ends in the summer we have a trailer on a lot in Sundre. Here I also have another perennial garden. We also go for long walks, take lots of photographs. One of my favourite trips is out to Bearberry garden centre. Here we buy water plants as well as perennials.
