Alder Flats has some fun activities planned for the month of May, each year.

If you enjoy horse riding, check out the Alder Flats Horseback Poker Rally on May 12. Riders start at Ponderosa City, west of Alder Flats, at 10:00 am.

On May 25 and 26, Alder Flats hosts our annual Rodeo and Racemeet Event!

This two day events starts on Friday evening with full rodeo performances beginning at 6:00 pm.

Join us for a cowboy breakfast on Saturday morning, followed by a parade through the hamlet at 10:30 am.

The parade's theme for 2012 is "Early Explorers and Pioneers".

Full rodeo performances resume on Saturday at noon.

Join in the fun with our yummy steak barbeque following the rodeo, then dance to "The Whiskey Boyz", a live band from Edmonton!

Free onsite camping on a first come, first serve basis.

To register for rodeo events, call Russell and Kelly Seely, at 780-388-3318. Registrations are one day only, May 16, 4:00 pm at the Alder Flats Hall.

Real Estate Statistics for Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County April 2012

According to MLS Statistic's 50 properties were listed in the Rocky Mountain House Area in April 2012. In April 2011 -73 were listed, 2010 -61 properties & 2009 - 52 properties.

25 properties sold in the month of April 2012. In April 2011 - 13 properties sold, 2010- 11 properties and 2009 - 15 properties

Quite often as Realtors we are stopped when we are out and about in the community and asked "How is the Real Estate Market?". My answer is That Depends! Depending on whether you are looking to buy, sell, or invest the market can affect you quite differently. In addition, depending on the type of property you have the market is never the same. There are typically fluctuations in different price ranges and better times to buy, list, or sell a specific type of property.

Drayton Valley Ladies Roller Derby

Well, here's a new sport coming to town!!!! The word is out, Drayton Valley is going to start a ladies Roller Derby Team! This sport has been growing over the past several years, not just Provincially but also Nationally. Last year Toronto was host to a National Tournament very similar to our Juniors Hockey Tournament. My friends daughter plays in Edmonton and was chosen for Team Canada. I am very excited and will be supporting these ladies and will be the Assistant Coach. Looking forward to all the action!

Easter Seals Drop Zone!

This year several members of our office will be participating in the Easter Seals Drop Zone! Easter Seals makes it possible for kids with disabilities to attend camp which may have not been possible otherwise.

My 9 year old son Tyler will be attending an Easter Seals Camp this summer outside of Calgary. When he was 2 years old he was diagnosed with Autism. It is an amazing opportunity for him to be able to attend camp, this is an experience he may have never been able to have if it were not for fundraising efforts of so many. He will have an opportunity to make new friends and try new things in a safe, secure and understanding environment.

So on September 4, 2012 I will drop for my son and all the other amazing kids that have to struggle with disabiltities. To sponsor our team please visit the link below.
