Castleridge is rooted deep in the northeast quadrant of Calgary. The residents of Castleridge reside primarily in single detached homes, with a minority living in semi detached and apartment style residences.
Castleridge is home to several excellent schools. Carousel Montessori Preschool Kindergarten Daycare & School Age Care, O. S. Geiger Elementary School (K-6), John Paul II School (K-6) and Bishop McNally High School (10-12) are all within the community limits (Calgary Board of Education, 2012).
Excellent shopping exists within a short drive of the Castleridge community. While McKnight Village is quite close, the popular Cross Iron Mills Outlet Mall is also only a mere 35-minute drive. A short drive to downtown will reveal stores for the whole family - from Mountain Equipment Co-op to Holt Renfew.
Looking for green space? Castleridge is a short distance away from both Falshire Park and Prarie Winds Park. For the golfers in the family, Silver Wing Golf Course and McCall Lake Golf Course are within ten minutes of the community.
While Castleridge is slightly farther south than some communities, Calgary’s LRT system can have you to the downtown core from Westwinds/McKnight station in under 35 minutes. For those who commute to the airport regularly, the short 25-minute commute should be quite appealing!
