Mayland Heights is a gorgeous community located in Calgary’s northeast quadrant, yet steps away from the downtown core. Approximately ~6,000 of Calgary’s residents call Mayland Heights home - one-third of which are between the ages of 25 and 44 (City of Calgary, 2012). Within the Mayland Heights community, homeowners and renters tend to reside in single detached homes, but a small subset of semi-detached, row and apartment-style homes are available for rent or purchase (Ibid).

These schools include but are not limited to: Belfast School (K-6), Mayland Heights School (K-6), Vista Heights School (K-6), Sir John Franklin School (5-9), St. Alphonsus (K-9), Stanley Jones School (K-6), Alice Jamieson Girls Academy (4-9), Bishop Kidd (7-9), Father Lacombe (10-12), Forest Lawn High School (10-12) and Crescent Heights High School (9-12) (Calgary Board of Education, 2012)

Renters and homeowners in the Mayland Heights that like to shop will love the proximity of the community to the downtown core.  Just a short drive or train from the community, residents can enjoy access to the premier and retail shopping of the downtown core and 17th Avenue.  Residents can enjoy a day of shopping and sample some of Calgary’s finest restaurants within the downtown core.   The popular Chinook Mall is also under ~20 minutes from the community and has stores that are sure to please every member of the family! 

What about the green space? Mayland Heights is adjacent to Bottomlands Park and the popular Bow River. Residents can enjoy a scenic walk/run/bike along the Bow River for miles! If that isn’t enough, Bottomlands Park is next door and offers a baseball diamond and trails for the family to enjoy.

There are several LRT stations in and around the Mayland Heights area that can have commuters downtown in a jiffy. Under ~5 KM from the community, homeowners/renters can access the Barlow/Max Bell, Zoo, Franklin, Marlborough and Bridgeland LRT Stations. With several LRT stations to choose from, residents or homeowners in the Mayland Heights area will find themselves downtown in ~15 minutes! Those who commute frequently by car have the added ability to transect the city easily using both the Deerfoot Highway and Memorial Dr SE.
