Claresholm is a small community located along the #2 Highway, about mid-way between Calgary and Lethbridge.
Originally Claresholm was a watering stop for steam engines on the Canadian Pacific Railway line along the Macleod Trail. The first settlers to Claresholm arrived in 1902, the village was established in 1903. In 1905 it was Incorporated as a town.
Some of the attractions to Claresholm are; 18 hole Golf course, indoor aquatic center, spray park, modern library, variety of shopping, visitor information and shopping, skateboard park, Appaloosa horse capital of Canada, excellent equine facilities, ranch vacations and bed and breakfasts.
