Campbell River Real Estate Listings and Information

Campbell River

Well known as the "Salmon Capital of the World", Campbell River has evolved into the Gateway to the North Island.  From its historical roots as a resource based community, it is fast becoming an eco-tourism capital.  Snorkel with the salmon down the Campbell River, take a whale-watching trip, travel by helicopter to watch the grizzlies on the rugged mainland rain forests, go boating and be amazed by the California Sea Lions, or scuba dive and explore the sunken HMCS Columbia.  Take a drive north or west, and you're likely to see Black Bears and Rutherford Elk.  In the winter, choose between world-famous Mount Washington Ski Resort - in 2010 it had the deepest snow pack in the world! - or friendly Mount Cain.  Kayaking or canoing to Quadra and Cortes Islands is another popular activity.

But you don't have to leave town to watch the eagles soar, catch a Heron standing watch on a rock in the ocean or spot a deer or two.  With miles and miles of oceanfront, spectacular ocean vistas and mountain views, and a  several kilometer long sea walk, Campbell River is one of the easiest places to relax and enjoy your favourite recreational activity.

Straddling the 50th parallel, Campbell River has mild BC West Coast weather - but it is on the East Coast of Vancouver Island!  With a population of approximately 32,000 residents, the City supports a thriving commercial core including newly constructed international stores alongside locally owned specialty stores.Campbell River has a thriving Farmers' Market adjacent to the famous Discovery Fishing Pier.  Enjoy ice cream or fresh fish and chips while strolling along the pier to see the fresh catches of fish.

Every summer, the City hosts a fantastic chainsaw carving competition called Transformation on the Shore on the scenic oceanfront in Willow Point.  Every fall Campbell River hosts its annual Loggers Sports.

With so much natural beauty and opportunities for recreational activities, consider Campbell River for your next home town.
