Creston is a community of approximately 5000 people, located on Highway #3 and near Highway #21, in the heart of the Kootenays. The Creston Valley's southern boundary is the US Border at the state of Idaho, and the northern landmark is the Kootenay Lake, at an elevation of 1740 feet. We are nestled in an agricultural valley and surrounded by the stunning Selkirk and Purcell mountain ranges.

Creston Valley winters are usually mild, and spring comes early to this rich agricultural valley. The Creston Golf Club often opens in March.  Kootenay Lake is a 20 minute drive north of Creston and offers many recreational opportunities for visitors and residents.

Exciting changes are happening in Creston. In the last few years, Creston Place, a three-level retail and office building was completed on Canyon Street (our downtown main street); this was the first new downtown building in over 25 years. The Creston & District Community Complex opened its new indoor aquatic pools and fitness facility; this $18 million, 2-year construction project is a "must see and use" facility.  Tim Hortons opened its Creston location to offer 24-hour service to locals and tourists.
