Kamloops is Trisected by 3 major Highways. The Trans-Canada Highway, the Yellowhead Highway and the Coquihalla Highway and is bisected by Canada’s two railways.

 Kamloops’ name is dervied from a version on the Shuswap word "Tk'emlúps" which means “meeting of the waters”. Kamloops is built in the valley of the mountains and along the North and SouthThompson Rivers.
