Lower Lantzville

Incorporated in 2003, Lantzville is a picturesque seaside community located on the Northern border of the City of Nanaimo.

Traditionally a coal mining area Lantzville was once known as Grant’s Mine. In 1920 an American company bought the mine and surrounding property. Fraser Harry Lantz was a director in the mining company and the area became known as Lantzville. A number of settler family names have also been immortalized through the names of streets, waterways and landmarks.

Today, Lantzville is known for its community charm – it includes beautiful neighbourhood parks, scenic beaches and a variety of shops and businesses in the village core.

Lantzville is divided into 2 neighbourhoods by the Island Highway.

LOWER LANTZVILLE is bordered by 4.5 km of beachfront to the North and the Island Highway to the South. It offers a variety of homes and property types from rural feeling ½ acre plus lots to very desirable walk-on waterfront properties.
