Condo in Outer Space

Galaxy World, billed as the first orbiting Condo Tower in the universe, has sold every last one of its 20,000 units, and is now in the early stages of being assembled.

The project is expected to take 20 years before the first tenants can move in, and there still a lot of wrinkles to be ironed out before then.

Like, how will people get up there? Like, how will their furniture get up there? Like, will there be property taxes, and which government will they be paid to?

None of this seems to bother any of the proud new owners of the $5 million and up units.

"Why should I care?" says Rufus Daduffas, owner of a $50 million penthouse suite. "They'll get it all figured out by move-in day, and I've already been offered $100 million."

When completed, the condo will be able to travel at speeds up to 22,000 kph, and will take frequent trips to the moon to break the boredom of floating around aimlessly in space.

Engineers are hoping to solve the furniture problem by enabling the tower to re-enter Earth's atmosphere to land wherever the furniture is waiting, and just pick it up, but it's not yet clear which authority would give landing clearance, since a condo tower is not really an airplane and therefore may not come under the jurisdiction of the Airport Administration.

Initial start-up investors have been initiated, and further investment is being sought--investors at this time will not be disclosed.

When completed, the condo will be able to travel at speeds up to 22,000 kph, and will take frequent trips to the moon to break the boredom of floating around aimlessly in space.
