Island Lakes

Island Lakes is located in south east Winnipeg, at the corner of Bishop Grandin and Lagimodiere. It provides easy access to major cross-town routes and is only a few minutes from St. Vital Centre. This new development began in 1985 when Novament Development Corp. developed the 580-acre Island Lakes subdivision. The neighbourhood's lakeside walkways have always been a popular feature for joggers, cyclists and strollers, and the lakes are always popular with canoeists. For lovers of nature and birdwatchers, the community has a 5-acre natural grass area planted with  native prairie species. Enjoy the parks with playground equipment, baseball diamonds and large green areas for fun.

Island Lakes is home to over 2500 homes. Please see the Interactive Property Map for more information.

The new elementary called Island Lakes Community School opened in the fall of 2001 and already has a new addition built. Adjacent to the school is a new 16-acre park with tennis courts, basketball hoops and baseball diamonds.
