Hammonds Plains

Hammonds Plains is located approximately 25 kms from the downtown core of Halifax along a road that runs from Bedford to the Head of St Margaret’s Bay. The area is punctuated with lots of trees and lakes with homes located on large, mostly un-serviced lots. It is an area that saw tremendous growth in the 1990’s and continues to grow and prosper.

Within Hammonds Plains there are many subdivisions each offering their own housing styles and other amenities including churches and community centres. In recent years, the area has seen growth in retail and other services including Sobeys, Rona, the Hammonds Plains Medical Centre and Pharmacy, Tim Hortons and much more. The recent addition of the BMO 4-pad is a great addition to the area in terms of a great sports venue.

The average price of home is approximately $375,000. The majority of homes are detached single family homes with or without a garage. Since most homes are unserviced with only septic and well, the properties are generally 1 acre or larger to accommodate the services.
