LaSalle is a town in Essex County, Ontario, Canada, on the Detroit River. It is a bedroom community of the City of Windsor and part of the Windsor Census Metropolitan Area, and is located south of that city. LaSalle, along with Windsor, is the oldest French settlement area in Southwestern Ontario, and the oldest continually inhabited European settlement in Canada west of the Quebec border. The town was named for explorer René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle and includes Fighting Island, in the Detroit River at its western side, an island that is privately owned by the world's largest chemical company, BASF.

One of LaSalle's biggest events is the annual Strawberry Festival, which takes place on the first weekend in June.

In LaSalle, most teenagers attend either Sandwich Secondary School or St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Secondary School. The attendance to both is relatively close in numbers.

LaSalle also has its own small but growing bicycle trail network, named the "LaSalle Trail", which links up to neighbouring Windsor, Ontario's own "Windsor Trail" network, allowing people to ride from Sandwich Secondary School all the way to Windsor's Riverfront Trail. The town has also expressed interest and intentions to connect LaSalle (and indirectly, Windsor) to the Chrysler Canada Greenway by wanting to construct a link to the Trans-Canada Trail near Oldcastle, Ontario.

Trap #1: Line 6 - Real estate taxes Your monthly mortgage payment often includes money for a tax escrow, from which the lender pays your local real estate taxes. The money you send the bank may be more than what the bank pays for your taxes, says Julian Block, a tax attorney and author of Julian Block’s Home Seller’s Guide to Tax Savings. That will lead you to putting the wrong ... Read More...

I recently received a call from an acquaintance regarding a property dispute she was having with a neighbour.  To keep it brief, she claimed that the neighbour had moved a survey peg thereby making her property smaller and the neighbours property bigger.  She was upset to say the least.  After a number of questions we established that she had purchased 'Title Insurance' when she purchased ... In the saving energy fight, the hot water heater is a born loser. That’s because most of us have a conventional storage-type water heater. That water storage tank works constantly to keep water hot and ready whenever you want it. But as the water sits, it naturally cools down, a process known as “standby heat loss.” When the water cools, the burner or heating element ... Read More...

Seniors have the highest home ownership rate in the nation, with a full 81.2% of 65-year olds reporting that they own the home they live in. After this age, ownership rates start to decline as seniors sell and relocate to be nearer to family members or join a retirement community. There are multiple benefits for a real estate agent who chooses to work with or even focus on senior clients. ... Read More...

The former heartbeat of Canada's auto industry and a once-thriving centre of industry in Ontario is now the most affordable market in Canada to buy a family-sized home. According to a new survey of Canadian real estate, Windsor, Ont., is one of many key markets in Canada where a dream home is still affordable -- a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house lists for an average of just $170,991 in the southwestern ... If the economy still feels stuck, blame the housing market. That may not match how people in a handful of big, prosperous cities see things. After a disastrous and historic crash, housing is booming in places like San Francisco and New York. Bidding wars are back, and the question is not whether the real estate market is recovering but whether new bubbles are inflating. But there's another reality ... Read More...
