South London, or Old South as most Londoners refer to this area, is bounded to the north by the south fork of the Thames River, Adelaide St. to the east, Emery St., and Commissioners (farther east) to the south, and Wharncliff Rd. to the west. The area is home to the London Health Sciences Centre, Children’s Hospital and Thames Valley Children’s Centre on the northeast corner of Commissioners Rd. and Wellington Rd.

The smaller neighbourhood of Wortley Village is centred on the business area along Wortley Rd. and encompasses the long tree-lined streets that are filled with a diverse stock of beautiful heritage homes. This is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in London which was first settled in 1810. This is a unique neighbourhood feel with festivals and gathering throughout the year. A heritage conservation district study is currently underway for Wortley Village/Old South. In the heart of the district is South Secondary and Techumseh Public schools, adjacent to the Farquharson Arena. Other schools in the area include Victoria Public School, Wortley Road Public School, Holy Rosary Separate School, St. Martin Separate School. The Landon Library is also located in South London.
