The district is best known for the White Oaks Mall which was constructed in 1973, expanded in 1976, enlarged again in 1985 and 1988 and today there are over 175 stores and services found there. The residential area also built up throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
The heart of the neighbourhood is White Oaks Park the site of a neighbourhood Canada Day celebration. Connected to the park are the South London Community Pool on Bradley Ave. as well as the South London Community Centre, Jalna Library and the South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre off of Jalna Blvd. where many activities and programs are offered.
