The 50th Gold Cup Parade is almost upon us! Century 21 Colonial Realty is proud to announce that we are sponsoring Joe Nieuwendyk in the "Parade of Stars". Nieuwendyk and the Dallas Stars are also going to be here from Sept 16-20 for their training camp.

Nieuwendyk has won the Stanley Cup three times, in three different decades, for three different teams. He is one of only ten players in Stanley Cup history to win the Cup with three different teams. Nieuwendyk was also considered one of the best face-off men in NHL history. The Gold Cup Parade Committee is honored to have a sports star of Mr. Nieuwendyk caliber participating in this year’s parade.

Nieuwendyk joins a growing list of stars that will be featured in this year’s Gold Cup Parade under the 2011 theme ‘Parade of Stars’. Businesses and organizations across PEI are being encouraged to feature stars from their communities, workplaces, and organizations in their float entries for the 50^th Anniversary of the Gold Cup Parade.

“This year the parade theme is “Parade of Stars,” says Ray Murphy, committee chairmen and Island businessman. “Nieuwendyk was an accomplished hockey player and has done great work with the Dallas Stars. He is a perfect fit to our theme this year and we are more than pleased to have him with us for this special event.”

The Gold Cup Parade will take place August 19, 2011 on the streets of Charlottetown.
