Looking for fun this Family Day? There are lots of options happening in Niagara!

The City of Welland has a full list of community activities taking place over the Family Day long weekend. The city is offering free public skates at the Jack Ballantyne Memorial Arena at multiple times (with donation of a non-perishable food item). From 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., the Wellness Community Complex will offer a variety of fun activities, including a Kraft Korner, inflatables and a large Kids Zone! Come early and sign up for drop in badminton and table tennis tournaments!

Also in Welland, residents can join the Mayor on his weekly 40-minute walk on Merritt Island. Discuss local hot topics and get in some exercise in Welland!

In Niagara Falls, head to 5810 Ferry Street. Family Day at the Niagara Falls History Museum will feature a scavenger hunt involving the history of the world famous honeymoon capital of the world! There will be multiple interactive reptile shows and craft making at this fun, free event.

Sports enthusiasts are in for a treat as both the Niagara Lock Monsters and the Niagara Ice Dogs have home games over the Family Day long weekend in St. Catharines. The Lock Monsters of the Canadian Lacrosse League will suit up on February 13 versus the Ohsweken Demons. The Ice Dogs then welcome the OHL's Mississauga Steelheads for a Valentine's Day showdown at the Meridian Centre.

With Valentine's Day on Sunday and Family Day on Monday, many families are booking reservations at one of the many Sunday Brunch sittings happening across the region. Wineries and various dining venues are putting something extra special into this year's long, loving weekend with friends and family.

Sign the family up for Niagara Culinary Tours' Winter Wonderland Tour happening Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Irish Harp in Niagara-on-the-Lake. This two and half-hour tour is a foodie favourite highlighting some special landmarks. Sip hot beverages while learning more about this historical land at the mouth of Lake Ontario and the Niagara River.
