June real estate sales up over last year

Real estate sales were up 2.7 per cent in this past June, over sales in June of 2012, based on figures just released by the Realtors Association of Hamilton-Burlington.

  • 1,367 properties changed hands, 1,126 of which were residential
  • The average sale price was $397,374, up 8.5 per cent over the previous June
  • Lower sales were reported in condominiums, falling by 1.3 per cent

"After a record-breaking month for sales in May, June settled into more of a normal pattern," said Ross Godsoe, CEO of RAHB. "While June sales were higher than last year at this time, they fell a little below the 10-year average for the month."
