Love is in the air in Hamilton and Burlington

Valentine's Day is coming up this month and there couldn't be a better time to show the one you love just how much you care. The idea of a 'romantic day' varies from one couple to the next, so take a look at some of these Valentine's Day date ideas that you can experience in Hamilton and Burlington and choose the one that resonates with you!

For some, the perfect Valentine's Day involves time spent together. For some serious relaxation, start the day with a couples massage. Pure NV Salon and Spa on Upper James offers a cozy couples massage room and a number of packages. In Burlington, the Rendez-Vous for Two package at Rosewater Spa features a waterfall shower for two, side-by-side massages, some bubbly and decadent chocolate truffles.

Once relaxed, head to one of your favourite spots for a romantic meal, or try somewhere new! Rapscallion Rogue Eatery on Young Street in Hamilton has been garnering rave reviews for the past few years and Cavallo Nero Trattoria in Ancaster is a sure hit for authentic Italian.

For a fabulous meal in Burlington, The Alex on Brant Street offers small plate fine dining with an extensive wine list. You also can't go wrong with Blacktree on New Street, Napoleon's Steak and Seafood House on Fairview and Stone House Restaurant on South Service Road.

In Hamilton, Winterfest's Weird and Wonderful – Odd and Intriguing Artifacts from the Fieldcote Collection takes place on February 14. If you and your sweetheart love a little friendly competition and love history, this is one Valentine's Day event for you! Fieldcote will have on display mystifying, obscure and fascinating artifacts from its collection and participants can have fun trying to guess what the items were used for – there are prizes to be won!

For the outdoorsy types, the Valens Lake Ice Fishing Derby: Valentine's Edition is the perfect way to spend a romantic day together. The derby takes place on February 14 with fishing from sunrise to 2 p.m. at Valens Lake Conservation Area, north of Waterdown, just off Highway 6.

In Burlington, spend Valentines Day with that special someone enjoying tributes to the best crooners of all time including Dean Martin, Elvis, Tony Bennett, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka and many more. The show will take place on February 13 at 8 p.m. Visit www.burlingtonpac.com for tickets.
