U. Gary Charlwood
Founder & Executive Chairman
As the founder of CENTURY 21 Canada, Gary and a former partner bought the master franchise rights to CENTURY 21 in 1974 and launched the brand in January 1976. Since then, the Charlwood Pacific Group (CPG) has expanded into 60 countries with 21,000 support staff in 1,600 locations under the brands CENTURY 21 Canada; CENTURY 21 Asia-Pacific; Centum Financial Group; Real Property Management Canada; and UNIGLOBE Travel International.
Today, UNIGLOBE operates on six continents and is continuing its growth into new markets in North America, South and Central America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, the Middle East and Africa.
Gary has forged a reputation as an international franchising leader. He was the first non-US citizen to be appointed Chairman of the Board for the International Franchise Association (IFA), and in 2009 was inducted into the IFA Hall of Fame alongside luminaries Ray Kroc of McDonald’s, Fred de Luca of Subway and Conrad Hilton of Hilton Hotels, to name a few.
In 2009, Gary was also inducted into the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) Hall of Fame. This award is the highest honour that ASTA presents to individuals and he joined a prestigious group of past winners, including animation legend Walt Disney and hotelier JW Marriott Jr.
In 2016, Gary’s CPG was also recognized with the Canadian Franchise Association’s (CFA) Hall of Fame Award.
Gary’s partners in CPG are his two sons; Martin, who serves as Vice Chair and CEO of the Charlwood Pacific Group of companies and Christopher, who is the strategic advisor to CPG and serves on its various boards as a Director.
Vice Chairman & CEO
As President of the Charlwood Pacific Group (CPG), Martin also serves as the Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CENTURY 21 Canada® and President and Chief Operating Officer of UNIGLOBE Travel International.
A past franchise owner himself, Martin joined the business founded by his father, U. Gary Charlwood, after graduating from the University of British Columbia in 1990. Since then, Martin has worked in nearly every facet of the business.
For much of the last decade, Martin and the executive team have been driving growth and directing the future of CENTURY 21® in Canada.
He has also played a pivotal role in expanding the UNIGLOBE brand to new markets around the world and into new sectors of the travel industry. During his tenure as President and COO, UNIGLOBE has extended its reach into Germany, Italy, the Middle East, Southern Africa, India, China, South America and Australia.
Martin has been featured in The Wall Street Journal and Fast Company, and shares his leadership experience as an active mentor and member of the Young Presidents' Organization, the world’s premier ‘peer network’ for chief executives and business leaders through ongoing education and idea exchange.
Most recently, Martin was named one of North America’s top 200 real estate leaders on the 2016 Swanepoel Power 200 list.
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
As Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer for the Charlwood Pacific Group (CPG), which includes franchise brands CENTURY 21 Canada®, CENTURY 21 Asia-Pacific, Centum Financial Group, UNIGLOBE Travel International and Real Property Management Canada, Tracy is responsible for the finance, legal and corporate services departments. She also sits on the board of directors for CPG.
With 35 years of experience in international franchising, Tracy has been with CPG since 1982, and was appointed Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer in 1997.
In 2002, Tracy was named one of the top 40 entrepreneurs under 40 by Business in Vancouver Magazine, and was a finalist in the Association of Women in Finance’s (AWF) 2006 PEAK Awards.
Tracy was most recently recognized by Real Estate Professional (REP) Magazine in 2016 as one of the top 100 women shaping the future of the real estate industry in Canada.
Executive Vice President
As the Executive Vice President of CENTURY 21 Canada®, Brian manages the CENTURY 21® brand in Canada, with a focus on operational and strategic growth initiatives.
Brian has been a member of the CENTURY 21 System since 1980, when he opened two of his own CENTURY 21 franchises in the province of Nova Scotia. Four years later, he joined the CENTURY 21 Canada corporate team’s Toronto office as a Franchise Sales Director and within one year relocated to the head office in Vancouver as the Western Canada Assistant Vice President of Franchise Sales. Various regional and national promotions followed and Brian was appointed Executive Vice President of CENTURY 21 Canada in April of 2014.
With 40 years of experience in the real estate industry, Brian began his career as a REALTOR® in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1976. Graduating to Broker/Manager status in 1978 and then Broker/Owner/Manager in 1980. His grass roots, hands on knowledge provides the ideal foundation to lead, grow and enhance the CENTURY 21 brand across the country.
Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer, Jack is responsible for CENTURY 21 Canada® technology strategy and planning, including century21.ca, the C21® OnlineOffice and its associated tools and systems.
In addition to his position at CENTURY 21®, Jack serves as President of T3 Sixty, a division of the Swanepoel T3 Group. He is also the executive editor of the Swanepoel Trends Report, and author of the 2015 T3 Tech Guide, real estate’s most comprehensive publication on technology.
With 15 years of experience in the real estate industry, Jack led the Keller Williams’ technology team that developed the enterprise system to support franchise growth from 10,000 REALTORS® and 120 offices to 60,000 REALTORS® and more than 600 offices. In 2013 he was recognized by Inman News as one of the Top 100 Influential Leaders in Real Estate.
Jack has been with CENTURY 21 Canada since July 2015.
