If you are one of the Agents that said the market has dropped off in October you will most likely be shocked by the news that October 2015 was healthy and very much alive. I didn't feel busy at all but the sales say otherwise.
The Ottawa Real Estate Board released their statistics and they were up over last year! Not only were they up over last year they were higher than the average for the last 5 years.
So was it just our focus went to the election? Did sales that happened at the end of September when we were busy just firm up in October that helped to make the numbers look better than we all experience? I think so.
Our less than 6 months supply level put us back in balanced territory but probably a result of people allowing their listings to expire (maybe to wait until next spring - when the Liberal Government's new policies get into full swing) and the few realistic ones sold we will march through a normal winter market and come back to a vibrant 2016 Spring Market; let's hope.
