Britannia is a diverse west end neighbourhood close to the Ottawa River. Originally there were mostly cottages and summer homes. Now homes range from modest cottages, duplexes, semi-detached and apartments to upscale homes close to the Britannia Yacht Club. 

This is a family friendly neighbourhood with easy access to the bustling Richmond Road stores, restaurants and movie theatres.

For outdoor enthusuast, there is the Ottawa River Parkway with its bike paths and walkways. Many families enjoy swimming and playing at Britannia Beach, checking out the birds and wildlife at Mud Lake and watching the yachts sailing in the river.

In addition to the substantive parklands, plenty of other amenities are available at nearby Richmond road. Schools, churches and shopping are all within a quick drive or walk. OC Transpo provides extensive service, with routes 116, 182, 59, 683, and 85 winding through the area
