A picture is worth a thousand words...especially when Selling your Home

You're Shopping for a Home what's the first thing you do??  

If you're like most Home Buyers you'll go online & start checking out homes- by checking out I mean scrolling through photos. If you're like most home Buyers you will choose whether to view a property based on the photos. Years ago - pre internet - you didn't have an opportunity to see what was behind the door of homes for sale -  so you had no choice but to go in person -but not today. If the home doesn't look appealing on line you don't want to waste your time viewing it.

As a Home Seller you don't want to lose buyers based on lousy unappealing photos of your home. Hence the reason I believe strongly that homes should be professionally photographed by a photographer who understands marketing. The photographer I hire takes appealing but realistic photos. I liken it to putting your photo on a dating site - if you've completely retouched your photo where the photo looks nothing like you  it doesn't make a lot of sense - lets face it your prospective date will eventually meet you live and in person. On the other hand a photo with poor lighting or bad angles may scare away Mr or Mrs right. It's the same with homes no point using trick photography but we certainly want to showcase the Best Features of Your Home. The purpose of photography for home marketing is to attract the right buyers and discourage the wrong buyers. 

You don't need 100 Buyers through your home - you need those Buyers who have already had their first viewing on line and determined that your home is appealing enough that they'd like their second viewing to be live and in person. So whether you're looking for a Date or a Home a picture really is worth a thousand words :)
