Well another month has passed and things are still improving. Every month this year is an improvement over last year. Things are looking up but still have room for improvement.
This past July we saw 150 sales compared to 126 last July in 2010.
Below is a breakdown of what is selling:
Houses - 102 (2011) to 89 (2010)
1/2 Duplexes - 8 (2011) to 10(2010)
Condo's + Townhouses - 32 (2011) to 22 (2010)
One of the interesting things I found during my searching was that while 8 houses sold over the 500K mark this year more sold last year. In 2010 we had 11 sell for 500K or more and 2 of them were over $1,000,000.
What that tells me is that we are having more people buying normal family homes. Starter homes are selling, the majority of the sales are under $350,000 and the average sale price is in the $285,000 range. More people buying in a smarter price range is just one sign of a stronger market.
The Red Deer Real Estate market is getting better and should continue to grow at a smooth pace.
