Spring Cleaning? Kick it to the Curb this Weekend

For those planning to do some spring cleaning this long weekend, remember that Kick it to the Curb is coming up June 4 and 5. The city-wide event is a great way to get rid of clutter and find a new home for unwanted but still useful items.

This initiative by the City of Red Deer is a fantastic way to keep your useful (but unwanted) items out of the garbage.  Kick it to the Curb encourages residents to repurpose unwanted goods by putting them out on the morning of June 4th with a "free" sign to show that they are up for grabs.

Popular items that are set out each year include books, DVDs, furniture and construction items. Any items that are left out by the end of the weekend should be pulled back inside.

Anyone who would rather not put their unwanted items on the curb can take them to the Trash to Treasure Swap Meet at Kerry Wood Nature Centre on June 4 and 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m on both days.
