Morrisroe, Red Deer, AB, Canada

Neighbourhood Information
Morrisroe

Morrisroe is the first area in Red Deer to feature streets with names of prominent residents and citizens of Red Deer.  Started in the early 70's and slowly developed in two distinct phases the 70's and then the 80's you can certainly see the size of homes and style of homes change from those two decades.

One of the most recognizable landmarks is the St. Mary's Catholic Church on 39th Street and Mc Millan Ave.  Designed by acclaimed architect Douglas Cardinal.  It's distinct design is instantly recognizable and memorable.

Today considered to be a mature area.  Morrisroe maintains it's desirable location status.  It is an area fortunate to be close to many schools.  If you have kids and wanted to be within walking distance Morrisroe is one of  those areas.  Elementary, Junior High (now called Middle School) and High Schools are all near by.

Other nearby amenities include, parks, skating rinks (the Kin City Arenas), Shopping at the Deer park plaza and east view plaza, and is very convenient to the East Hill Save -On foods shopping plaza and Collicut Fitness Recreation Centre.

You may have an older home by today's standards but you may never get the ease of access to all the schools, and other amenities quite the same again.

And the mountains? Hop in the car and you can be hitting the slopes in a few hours. Beautiful…did we mention beautiful? Red Deer has an AMAZING park system, bike paths, walking trails and green ...

Market Reports and Conditions

2011 has been a transition year for sure.  Coming off of string buyer market conditions we are beginning to see signs of balanced market conditions.  However we're not fully there yet.  Not all price ranges are displaying the same market conditions and regionally the hyper local real estate markets are vastly different.  For now ...

November 2011 is seasonally a slower month.  Typically residential MLS sales volume for Red Deer declines as we get closer to Christmas.  Majority of people seem to be content with being settled for Christmas.  However sales occur daily and monthly through out the year and November is no exception. November 2011 Red Deer residential MLS sales sales volume was 11.5% higher than the ...

End of September heralds in the fall market, and the closing of the third quarter for MLS® statistics.  Here in Red Deer residential sales have been positive for year over year growth and the supply side, namely listings, has decreased year over year.  When we started 2011 our expectations were for modest growth and a trend to a balanced market.  With the economic conditions in Alberta ...

Parks & Recreation

When it comes to finding spaces to get outdoors and be healthy Red Deer has a lot to offer.  Red Deer boasts an extensive trail system that winds its way through out Red Deer, its parks and of course the serene and scenic river valley.  You could run down the sidewalk or take your bicycle to the streets but with trails leading north, south east and west you can take a more quieter and scenic ...

Superbowl commercials always garner a lot of attention.  This year capping off the 40th anniversary as a franchise real estate company Century 21 will be airing a Superbowl commercial.  Being a Century 21 Broker/Owner I must say it's pretty cool.  Talk about exposure for our brand which in turn creates added exposure for our clients. The Superbowl Commercial:  The Teasers: ...
