Morrisroe

Morrisroe is the first area in Red Deer to feature streets with names of prominent residents and citizens of Red Deer.  Started in the early 70's and slowly developed in two distinct phases the 70's and then the 80's you can certainly see the size of homes and style of homes change from those two decades.

One of the most recognizable landmarks is the St. Mary's Catholic Church on 39th Street and Mc Millan Ave.  Designed by acclaimed architect Douglas Cardinal.  It's distinct design is instantly recognizable and memorable.

Today considered to be a mature area.  Morrisroe maintains it's desirable location status.  It is an area fortunate to be close to many schools.  If you have kids and wanted to be within walking distance Morrisroe is one of  those areas.  Elementary, Junior High (now called Middle School) and High Schools are all near by.

Other nearby amenities include, parks, skating rinks (the Kin City Arenas), Shopping at the Deer park plaza and east view plaza, and is very convenient to the East Hill Save -On foods shopping plaza and Collicut Fitness Recreation Centre.

You may have an older home by today's standards but you may never get the ease of access to all the schools, and other amenities quite the same again.

I  ♥  RED DEER Having lived all over Canada, (born in Sask. raised in BC, and 5 years in Ontario), has really given me a perspective on what is important in the community we call home. From the day we arrived in 2006, there has never been a moment of regret for moving here, nor ever the desire to move away. Without a question, the community offered everything that mattered most ... The average sale price in Red Deer for 2012 versus 2011 is up by $21,436 Does this mean my house price has gone up? Not necessarily. We have seen an increase in the unit sales of higher end properties. This plays a large part in the increased average sale price. In 2012, we had 21 sales in the $700,000+ price range compared to 11 in 2011. Our most active price range in 2012 was $250,0000-$300,000 with ... Read More...
