Tasty & Healthy School Lunch Ideas
It's that wonderful time of the year again (well maybe not for everyone) when the leaves start to change colour, the days get shorter and the kids are back to school!
With that comes the stress of thinking about what to pack the kids for their lunch. I've been there and when you have to do it for 5 out of 7 days, you start to run out of ideas real quick. Here are some ideas to help you:
Sandwiches: Bagels with Cream Cheese, Bagels with Cream Cheese and Cucumber, Sliced Bread with Turkey/lettuce/alfalfa sprouts/cucmber, Toasted Rye with Chicken Salad or a Kaiser Bun with Egg Salad.
Fruits & Vegetables: Grapes, Cherry Tomatoes, Carrot Sticks, Celery Sticks and Snap Peas.
In Containers: Bean Salad, Potatoe Salad, Pasta Salad, Fruit Salad, Leftover Griiled Zucchini and Mushrooms.
In A Thermos: Pasta with Fresh Lemon and Olive Oil, Pasta with Tomato or Meat Sauce, Soup, Chili, or Rice with Mixed Vegetables.
Quick Snacks: Granola Bars, Dried Fruit, Pretzels, Raisins or Cookies.
