It's Finally Summer!

It's finally summer time which means all things outdoors! Time to bring your whole life outside, including your parties! Backyard entertaining can be as elaborate or as simple as you like. We are fans of keeping things simple! Here are some C21 outdoor entertaining hacks so you can host a backyard party hassle free.

Lighting:

Lighting is crucial to creating the perfect ambience. Plus, when the sun sets you don’t want your guests stumbling around in the dark. There are many simple and cheap ways to get the look you want. Reuse your Christmas lights and hang them around your backyard to create a magical, fairy look. Tea lights in jam jars are also an easy and cheap fix for lighting. One of the biggest pests with outdoor entertaining are the mosquitos; keep these guys from bugging you by having citronella candles around your seating area.

Seating:

Adequate seating for all your guests can quickly become a hefty expense. Tree stumps and beanbag chairs make great seats and they create a cute boho look! Anyone who has ever been to an outdoor party, knows that deck chairs can be highly uncomfortable after a little while, so add cushions to the chairs to make them more comfortable. Keep your table protected by laying brown craft paper across and put crayons on the table so your guest can leave you a funny message.

Music and Games:

What would a party be without some music and games? Backyard parties can be a great place to expose your friend’s hidden talents. Get everyone to bring an instrument and have a little jam session. Depending on the size of your backyard there are limitless games you can play! For bigger yards, volleyball and badminton make for a great post bbq game. If you’re tight on space then nothing beats a good old-fashioned board games night– Scrabble anyone?

For The Kids:

Can’t forget about the kids! It is important to keep the little ones entertained while the adults are having fun! Set up a tarp and sprinkler to make a splash pad for fun in the day. For an activity in the evening, set up a race car track in the grass. Toy cars are very versatile so they make for a great indoor/outdoor toy!
