East St. Paul is located north east and adjacent to the City of Winnipeg. The Municipality encompasses sixteen square miles within the boundaries of the Red River to the west, the Municipality of St. Clements to the north; just east of the Floodway; and Winnipeg to the south. With quick access to three major highways (No. 59, No. 1, and No. 8), residents are within an hour's drive of the Whiteshell, Grand Beach, and Winnipeg Beach. East St. Paul is one of the fastest growing municipalities in Manitoba.

The River East School Division is responsible for the primary and secondary education of school-aged children in East St. Paul. There are three schools located within the municipality, including  Dr F.W.L. Hamilton School (K-6), Birds Hill School (K-6) and Robert Andrews School (7-9). For students attending high school there are options (find schools in your area).

Although it is one of the smallest rural municipalities, East St. Paul is able to offer a wide range of services and community programs found in much larger urban centres. It is recognized as having one of the best trained and equipped volunteer fire departments in the province.¸

A wide range of sports and recreational facilities (East St. Paul Community Centre) are available in this community, including baseball diamonds, soccer fields, skating rinks, tennis courts, curling rinks, access to snowmobile trails and boat launches to the Red River. the Municipality hosts large sporting events at the regional and provincial levels, and community teams have earned numerous City and Provincial titles in a variety of sports. The recent development of a 36 acre summer sports and recreation complex will further enhance soccer, softball and baseball activity.
