Spring Sales for Residential Homes

Spring is a great time to sell your home.  Regardless of whether it's a buyer's or seller's market, the inventory for houses almost always rises in the spring.  Why?  Because the largest number of buyers are actively searching for a home during the months of April, May and June.

Here are 3 (three) things you can do to improve the odds of making your home stand out in the spring from other houses on the market.

1) Wash windows inside and out!

Sparkle is free, and sparkle sells homes.  A potential buyer may not realize why your home seems so inviting but will feel more drawn to it because the windows are spotless and your mirrors reflect more rays of sunlight. Cleaning is the first step for getting your house ready for sale.

2) Rake the Yard/trim bushes

It's spring, get motivated, and be outside.  Clean out leaves, and debris in your lawn.  Over grown vegetation shows that maybe there are more things that the seller has not done inside.  Start from the outside in, and poeple will want to come in an see the house.

3) Clean the Garage

Everyone knows that garages are the catch all for everything we don't want in the house.  Remember, the buyer won't want it either.  Get organized, buy shelving, hang things, sort out everything that you don't need anymore and have a garage sale, or throw it out.  It will make you feel better, and your garage seem much bigger. If you move your going to have to do this anyways, so get it done before the house is on the market.
