Buying a home this spring? Here are 4 considerations to help prevent unneeded stress during your purchase.
 
one Determine your budget
Your primary cost is a mortgage. Meaning you are going to have to determine the maximum purchase price you can afford. When calculating this number, don’t forget there are smaller costs like property insurance, taxes, electricity and water bills, as well as other fees that can come up.
 
two Give yourself time to organize
Moving isn’t as simple as packing up your stuff and renting a van. It takes a village to move into a new neighbourhood! Make sure you choose individuals who will be helpful and to make it easier so you don’t get stressed. Organizing boxes by rooms also helps to keep your move running smoothly.
Tip: Don’t fill boxes to the top so they stay lighter and you won’t injure your back frtom lifting all day.
 
three It doesn’t have to be perfect
There’s nothing wrong with knowing what you want when it comes to buying a home. However, if your “must-have” list gets too long and too specific, you may end up looking for a very long time. Remember that you can make changes once you move in, so look past the 70’s shag rug and wallpaper.
Tip: Figure out your needs vs your wants in a home before starting to search.
 
four Consider your future plans
Think about how long you want to stay in this house and if it will suit your needs for that time. Consider if there will be enough bedrooms? Or, is it located in an ideal school district?
