Saskatchewan Drive - Retaining Structure

The City is planning to construct a retaining wall along Saskatchewan Drive between 101 Street and 90 Avenue in order to stabilize the slope and preserve the integrity of both the road and multi-use pathway in the area.

This public information meeting will be an opportunity to learn more about construction, pedestrian detours and traffic impacts. It will be an informal drop-in event where you can view displays and talk to project team members.

About the Project

Construction impacts:

  • The installation of a concrete pile retaining wall at the existing timber boardwalk location
  • Replacement of the existing timber boardwalk with an improved, wider walkway

Traffic impacts:

  • Total closure of Saskatchewan Drive from 101 Street to 90 Avenue to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic starting in early April 2013 for four to six weeks
  • In early June, the eastbound lane will be opened to vehicle traffic until construction is complete

Local traffic access will be maintained for the duration of the construction via alternate routes.
