Weekend Plans? Aug 9th - 11th

This is one of those weekends where everywhere you turn there is something happening in and around Edmonton.

The two biggest events are the Folk Fest on Gallagher Hill down in Cloverdale – even if you don’t have tickets, it’s easy enough to bike down there & take in the sights + sounds. This is a great little part of our city & if you've never been down there, this would be an interesting weekend to visit!

In the downtown area centred around Churchill Square, the Cariwest Arts Festival is taking place. This is a huge celebration of the Caribbean culture, with something to put a smile on your face & get those hips movingJ

There are a number of other events occurring, including Animethon 20! "We are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year with the theme of Seijin-Shiki (Coming of Age Ceremony), a Japanese celebration for when someone turns 20 and has officially come of age"

Fragapalooza is an annual video game festival that is running in Leduc. A two day open air  festival of grey rockers is held at Hawrelak Park. The Rock Music Festival has numerous nmes from the past including Tom Cochrane, Loverboy & Kim Mitchell!  Also in the older acts catagory is Jerry Seinfeld and he is at the Jube friday & Saturday nights - there may be some tickets left.

Lots to see and do this weekend, so try & get out and enjoy yourself!
