REQUIRED DOCUMENTS - PURCHASE OF A PROPERTY IN CANADA - NON-RESIDENTS

The following is the most common (but not an exhaustive) list of info/documents required from a Canadian non-resident when buying a property in Canada:

  • Full Name, Address (Residence),(SSN for US), Telephone
  • Bank Account (Name, Address, Telephones, Account #, Account Type)
  • Business (Name, Address, Telephones) - if business is buying
  • Accepted promise to purchase (in Canada)
  • Letter of accommodation from a bank (stating that buyer has a good credit record)
  • Proof of Revenue & Proof of assets issued by your bank
  • Copy of citizenships or a copy of a passport
  • Opened Canadian Bank Account

I strongly suggest that non-residents get most of the documents BEFORE they arrive in Canada.
