Get Ahead of the Spring Real Estate Market Now

Groundhogs (mostly) everywhere have predicted an early Spring this year. If they’re correct, that means it’s time to prepare for the approaching Spring real estate market! With research to be done, decisions to be made, and preparation of your home, family and pets, there’s no better time than now to start getting ready. Here’s how the Spring market works:

Generally, each Spring there are more buyers ready and able to purchase homes. In fact, there are usually more people looking to purchase in the Spring than in any other time of the year. With the changing weather and longer days, homes show better, landscaping looks great, and tax returns give many people an extra boost to assist in financing a move.

By mid-February to early March, the number of homes selling starts increasing, making it all the more important to have a well-prepared home that’s ready to sell.

Coming out of a winter slumber and quickly selling your home might seem to be a daunting possibility, but with my help and a customized action plan, you can settle those jitters and start making moves. Here are just a few things to consider:

  1. See your lender

They will sort out what your financing options are for buying your new home before you put your current house on the market. Tip: You’ll have a huge advantage over other buyers if you are pre-approved for a mortgage and can buy non-contingent.

  1. Get a pre-listing inspection

Can you imagine finding the perfect buyer for you home only to have the whole thing go off the rails because of a relatively insignificant line item on a home inspection?A pre-listing inspection will alert you and your agent to issues that can be dealt with in advance of your first open house.

  1. Spring cleaning

Turn your annual Spring cleaning list into cash! It is a fact that de-cluttering and home staging can add tens of thousands of dollars to the sell price of your home. Tip: Don’t wait until Spring! Start now and save yourself the stress later.

Spring doesn’t officially arrive until March 21 but that certainly doesn’t mean you should wait to prepare for selling your home. As a seasoned London Real Estate professional, I advise my clients on the best time to list their homes based on current, past and projected market trends and I say the right time to list is now, while supply is low, and demand is high.

If you want to be ahead of the curve and take advantage of this prime selling condition, call today and I’ll set you in motion to be ahead of the Spring market. Expect to sell quickly, and get ready to make your next move.
