the ABCs of selling your home smarter!

I have always had an eye for detail and patterns.. and as a result, I can pick up patterns quickly.  One of the patterns I have come to see over and over in selling a home successfully is this: the "ABCs of Selling Smarter".

Allow me to share this pattern with you in order to help YOU reach YOUR real estate goals sooner.


A - Accommodate
Do everything you can to accommodate all showing requests.  I too have gone through the process of selling my home and understand first hand how challenging this can be but do your best!  The more people who see your home the better!  It only takes one buyer to buy your home and you wouldn't want to turn down a potential offer by not letting a buyer through your home.


B - Bright
Work hard to ensure that all rooms receive a fresh coat of light, neutral paint.  Take down those kids stickers, wall art, posters, and personal graffiti that we love to decorate with.  Clean all the windows (inside and out) and open all drapery / window treatments - let the sunshine in!  Check that all windows are clear of clutter and ensure that all light bulbs are functioning at their brightest wattage.  Seeing your homes value is believing in your homes value!


C - Clean & Clutter Free
I can not stress this enough:  Keeping your home clean and clutter free for all showings and open houses will -only add to the value of your home and help you sell it sooner!  You want prospective buyers to see your home not last nights meat loaf crumbs on the floor!  Take a good look around and clean up what you wouldn't want to see in a home that you were buying.  Then there's clutter... Like a bad highschool photo - we all have it!  You know you want to move so why not start packing now?  Pack away all personal photos, awards, and memorabilia.  Pack away all collections, displays, and   ornaments.  You want prospective buyers to see your home - not your beautiful stuff!  Your goal is to sell your home as soon as possible for the best price possible.  Start packing a box a night of all personal possessions - keeping out only essential items that you will need until you move.
 Make sure to label all boxes and store them in a safe place.  Not only will this help buyers see what a great home you have it also gives you a head start on the moving process!  When you're done decluttering, every room should be clear of most non-essential items.  


Think of this process as an opportunity to organize, declutter, and sort your home in a way that you have always wanted to.
