We would like to bring your attention to the lastest fundraising effort on her behalf. There will be a fundraiser at the Port Pub in Port Williams this Sunday, April 18th. Tickets for the event are $100, and include live entertainment from musician Jon Duggan, and comedian Jay Malone, a three course dinner, live and silent auctions and door prizes.

Crystal was diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). She must move to Toronto to await a Lung Transplant, a wait which can take from six months to two years and cost a family $40,000.

The uncertainty of how long the wait will be for the transplant and the extra financial burden is devastating, both physically and emotionally. Because of her health Crystal is no longer able to work to help pay for her stay. At a time when she should be focusing on getting well, she is worried about how she will cover the costs associated with her stay in Toronto while she awaits her Lung Transplant.
"There are many things I miss in life as a result of my COPD. I miss working and being with people. I miss being able to go to family functions or community events. I miss not being able to walk, but most of all I miss not being able to play with or lift my 14-month old grandson Braedon. For me personally the thought of a double lung transplant is terrifying, I know that without it I will lose my battle with COPD like my father and my mother. I used to be the person everyone relied on, now I am the one who is relying on others," says Crystal Taylor.
