Tradition and Change in the Annapolis Valley
In the life of a family, change and tradition go hand in hand. This is true in the life of communities as well. Here in the Valley, there is evidence of this all around us.
We see it in the new Home Depot, scheduled to open this fall, joining well-established area businesses in providing quality products. We hear it on the airwaves as the new K-ROCK radio station finds its niche beside Magic 94.9 and Annapolis Valley Radio (AVR) station which has served the Valley for over sixty years. We taste it in the new bistro's and café's that work alongside other eating establishments with reputations for delicious offerings, and as we crunch down on a new crop of what the Valley has been famous for, for a few hundred years - it's apples! We feel it as we celebrate with the Village of New Minas in observing its 40th anniversary while we watch new subdivisions and communities being built.
On the political side of things, we see it everywhere as signs continue to sprout up because of municipal elections (as well as the federal one). Some calling for change, some proclaiming that what was, is best. And so, life continues.
Whatever changes you are facing either as a family or as a community we hope they are good ones for you. Whatever traditions you may be celebrating this fall, Klaas and I would like to wish you well.
