June on PEI

If you haven't been to PEI in June, you haven't seen it at its best! This is the time when the grass is its greenest, and there are still red fields waiting for planted crops to break through the surface. This combination creates a patchwork mosaic of red and green that provides a magnificent view from the air. The spring lobster season is at its peak, and you can buy fresh ones right from the boats so you know they are fresh...cooked in sea water, nothing compares! Later on in the month the lupins clothe themselves in sartorial splendor, turning even old shale pits and the roadway ditches into a canvas that would be envied by a gifted artist. So if you live in a neighboring province, take the ferry or the bridge and pay a visit. But you really should fly in to get the full benefit of the package. That's easier than ever now with direct flights from more of the larger centres. We'll be waiting for you!
