RURAL REAL ESTATE

"Back in the Day" the conventional wisdom was that there was no point in putting your property on the market in winter. That may have been the case when advertising consisted primarily of a sign on the lawn and print ads. The internet has changed all that. Today, as soon as a property listing is entered into the MLS system, it can be viewed anywhere in the world - at no cost to the seller! And a buyer can make a purchase from anywhere in the world! Unfortunately, there are still many who hold onto the belief that "nothing sells in winter". This is especially the case with rural properties. If that were true, the Real Estate offices would all close until spring. So if you are thinking of selling, don't wait. The weather has little to do with real estate sales. The biggest factors in poor sales are the economy and price-point. An over-priced property will not sell in the fairest of weather. Winter or summer, get a competent professional to evaluate your property, and take seriously his/her advice on pricing. You should have a satisfactory result.
