Our BC farmland is increasingly being sought after by foreign investors and successful produce and grain farmers because of food shortages and droughts elsewhere.
BC is the only western province that has no restrictions on the foreign ownership of farmland.
In Alberta, a foreign investor can only own up to 20 acres of farmland. In Manitoba they can own up to 40 acres and in Saskatchewan only 10 acres may be owned by a non-resident of Canada.
The president of the world bank is perdicting "fights over water and food" within the next 5 to 10 years and 1/5 of China's soil being contaminated, it is perdicted that food producing land will become increasingly sought after.
So this type of land will be a good investment in BC with no restrictions in place and the perdiction of it's popularity with foreign investors, it might be a good way to watch your money grow.
