Furnished or Unfurnished?

Moving from an old home to a new place, some home owners would ask this question: When I list my property for sale, should I show the house with furniture to potential buyers ? Or Should I show the place vacant? It is a good question. Based on our previous experiences,  the answer is "depends". So far I have not heard from serious buyers that they do not like a property because it is beautifully decorated. Therefore, if a house can be properly furnished and nicely staged, the answer is almost a definite "YES" . However, if the furniture currently used by the sellers are too bulky or worn out to the extent that it may make the presentation of the prioperty less desirable, I would suggest to the sellers to re-arrange or take out some of their furniture. A designer or stager can be a great help. We have good referrals of stagers or designers. Usually a better decorated home sells for more money. But If the seller is not willing to do the work or  invest in "dressing up" the house for showings, having a clean vacant property is preferred.
