Bedford is filled with old history and interesting architecture. Situated at the heart of the montérégie with the eastern townships and United States so close by, easily accessible from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Granby, and from Burlington. Will be more accessible once the new autoroute 35 is complete, it will join St-Jean-sur-Richelieu to the US Border. Bedford is also a meeting points for residents and all surrounding villages.

 Since the beginning of August, 1828, the town holds its annual agricultural exposition, l’exposition de Bedford, one of the oldest in Québec, and second oldest in Canada. The exposition starts with a parade with lots of color and runs through the roads in town. Through out the week-end, we can admire the farm animals, hit all the rides and assist in different competitions.


There’s a bunch of outdoor activities in the region, down hill skiing in Sutton and Bromont, surfing and aquatic sports Venise en Québec, walking and cycling trails on the country roads in the region.



Bedford is also the central meeting point of several artisans, artists, wineries, apple growers and market gardeners. The tournée des 20 is an event for the public to see artisans atwork in their workshops. The wine route begins in Bedford goes to Dunham and lead you through to St-Armand.


 There are 3 schools in theterritory of Bedford, a French highschool (Mgr Desranleau), a French elementary  (l’école premier envol) and an English Elementary  (Butlerschool).
