If you bought a condo at 144 Park St., Waterloo or are thinking of buying a condominium in Uptown Waterloo you will be happy to see that construction has begun!
I have clients who purchased their suite in 2009 who have eagerly awaited construction to start. Every week they've walked by and taken very boring photo's of the unchanging site. Their last photo though is of a big hole with a working crane in the centre. They even have a tentative occupancy date!
I was quite interested to read that all of the condos are going to have a water softening system from General Electric that removes hard water scale without the use of salt. The water is certified to be 99.999% microbiologically pure. This system produces better quality water than typical bottled water. No more hauling of those heavy bags of salt!
144 Park St. is also in the early stages of getting planning permission to build a second tower. The plans have been presented to City Council and were looked upon favourably. The city has requested some minor changes which the developers are working on. Any day now the new sales office for this building will be open. It is located in the Bauer building at King and Allen Streets. The best parking is located on Caroline St. in the Vincenzo's lot.
As for now I suggest you keep an eye on the Uptown Waterloo skyline as it is about to change again!
