Alberta can trace its beginning back to missionary Father Albert Lacombe, who built a log chapel in the Sturgeon River Valley in 1861. The Father Lacombe Chapel, which was used to minister to local Cree and Metis, has been completely restored to its original state and can be toured from June until September.
