Canadas tallest residential tower


Engineer Julie Robinson admits that it took a sunny day last summer to actually stop her cold in her steel-toed work boots for the first time.

After almost five years overseeing construction of the tallest residential tower in the country — Canderel’s 78-storey Aura project at Yonge and Gerrard Sts.. — Robinson found herself transfixed by the view through the gaping concrete walls of the just-poured 52nd floor.

The sun was shimmering on the lake, the downtown was bustling below and Robinson suddenly realized that she had been pretty much oblivious to the best part of her job — a stunning panoramic view of the city that has been climbing skyward, almost by the day
