Most people would know how to make your home appear attractive to the buyer, but there are some issues of concern that seem to remain on the backburner. Here are some of these things that should be avoided in order to make a sale as smooth as possible.
- If you decide to paint your house before selling, don’t select the colors based upon your personal choice, remember YOU ARE SELLING this house and the buyer might not like those same colors, you can always consult a professional painter or a home stager, or your Realtor.
- Don’t clutter your house with your personal belongings. Same space with less furniture and things looks bigger and brighter, move all extra objects to a storage and keep your house clean at all times.
- Don’t place all your stuff in the garage, the principle applies here also that prospective buyers would like to see the garage and the cleaner the better.
- Don’t leave your valuables like laptops, phones, jewelry in plain open view whenever doing an open house. Try to keep them locked away or take them with yourself. Don’t be a sitting target for someone’s mischief.
