The best up-and-coming neighborhood in Kelowna!
For those that live in Rutland, you already know how great the area is and you have seen the incredible improvements that have happened in the last little while as the highway was re-paved, a major bus hub was put in, new stores were built and old stores received face lifts. Rutland is by far the most highly populated area outside of the downtown core of Kelowna and provides all the amenities and services that you could want within this growing suburb.
What you probably do not know yet is that the city is not finished improving, updating and beautifying this neighborhood. With Rutland being one of the fastest growing areas in Kelowna, the city has further plans to expand Highway 97 to be six lanes from Highway 33 to Edwards Road (essentially the entire length of Rutland North). The larger goals are to expand the highway, better align Rutland Road and upgrade existing intersections, providing well needed traffic improvement.
With the new construction and expanded roadway you will see better safety, mobility and efficiency in traffic flow and better quality of living for the area as local residents will likely see less backed up traffic and experience quicker travel times.
If you have been thinking about moving to Rutland or were wondering what sort of city projects were going to be happening in the area, this six lane expansion is just one more improvement that is making Rutland one of the best places to live in Kelowna.
