This is a fundraiser that is near and dear to my heart. Lola, my niece, taught me so much about life and living. She was strong, courageous, funny, caring and kind. Although I did not have the pleasure to meet Caleb, I have heard the most wonderful things about him. Please come out to support the families and to help raise money in finding a cure for Dravet Syndrome and DIPG. Thank you!
A Cure From Caleb Society presents:
Spring Fling Fundraiser Dance!
(My niece, Lola)
This is a photo of Lola on her Make a Wish trip, only 2 months before she passed away at 4 yrs. of age. Lola had Dravet Syndrome. Dravet Syndrome is a heartbreaking severe epileptic disease. The brain cells cannot regulate the charges normally and the children have all types of seizures. They often have to be on multiple heavy duty medications and very specialised diets to try to control the seizures. Even with all modern treatment the seizures come on strong and emergencies are common place. It is a terrible illness and the child never gets a break from it. Lola died suddenly from a focal seizure in her sleep. We miss her every second of every day. There are more and more children affected by this syndrome and they are unclear of the cause. By supporting the Dravet Syndrome organization we are supporting research, advocacy and support for the children, families and doctors who are living in this nightmare.
